The beautiful thing about theatre is that it is ephemeral. For a captivating moment in time it is here and then it is gone, never to have the exact same experience twice. It is a mirror that reflects back our lives whether a show is rooted in reality or purely from imagination. It encourages, inspires, and makes us really think about where we came from, who we are, and where we can go. This is what pulled me in as an artist.

From a young age I had a hunger for knowledge and a passion for many things. However, the one passion that I always came back to is my love to create art and share stories. I found that in designing for theatre I was able to combine those passions and share them with the world even if they only exist briefly.

Originally from Bismarck, ND, I moved to Moorhead, MN to attend Concordia College where I planned on pursuing both my passions of theatre and ancient history. My final year of my undergraduate degree I excelled in all my passions by receiving the Jane C. Waldbaum Archaeological Field School Scholarship through the Archaeological Institute of America to work as an archaeological illustrator at the Villa del Vergigno Archaelogical Project near Florence, Italy and winning the first place National Costume Design Award for The Country Wife at the 2017 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region 5 competition. Both experiences granted me professional fulfillment and opportunities, however, I needed to make the choice as to which path I would pursue. Ultimately, I chose costume design for the creative liberty that it allows. I graduated in 2017 with three degrees in Theatre Arts specializing in Costume Design, Classical Studies specializing in Classical Archaeology, and Heritage and Museum Studies specializing in Conservation.

After college I worked for a year as a freelance costume designer in the Fargo/Moorhead area before I applied to graduate schools. I am currently in the middle of my graduate school education at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts pursuing my MFA in Costume Design. I look forward to creating and sharing many more stories through my art in the future.
